Italy travel: Rome, Trevi Fountain approach with Perillo Tours of Italy Italy travel: Rome, approaching the Trevi Fountain. Here our Perillo Tours Familia is walking down a typical two way street on the way to the Trevi Fountain. Just kidding, it's really a one way street packed with tourists, cars, motorcycles, and restaurant tables. Wow, the Trevi Fountain is actually much bigger in person than it looks! Hopefully the video will show that. Lots of street vendors, an Egyptian Pharoh, and a Roman Soldier wander about. (1:59) Send this video to a friend. Leave/View Comments |

Italy travel: Rome, Trevi Fountain with Perillo Tours of Italy Italy travel: Rome, Trevi Fountain details. "Trevi" means three roads (tre vie), and this fountain at the junction of three roads marked the end of one of the great Roman aqueducts. Trevi could mean three rivers to account for the volume of water! Video of lots of tourists. Then, our Perillo Tours Familia continues our walk to the Parthenon. Huge columns outside, supporting all of the Pantheon. (2:27) Send this video to a friend. Leave/View Comments |

Italy travel: Rome, Pantheon with Perillo Tours of Italy Italy travel: Rome, our Perillo Tours Familia inside the Pantheon. The video shows no internal supporting structures in the center! The Pantheon was "originally built as a temple to the seven deities of the seven planets in the state religion of Ancient Rome. It is the best-preserved of all Roman buildings. It has been in continuous use throughout its history" according to Wikipedia. This video segment ends with one of the Roman gods. (1:49) Send this video to a friend. Leave/View Comments |

Italy travel: Rome, Pantheon continued with Perillo Tours of Italy Italy travel: Rome, more video exploration of the Pantheon. The pantheon is built as a tribute to ALL the Roman gods, named for the days of the week. The explanation/translation made more sense when the days of the week were said in Italian, but Saturday was for Saturn, Sunday was for the Sun, etc. There were more interesting facts presented by our Perillo Tours guide than could possibly be recounted in one short video. Italy travel: Rome, Piazza Navona, Navona Plaza with Perillo Tours of Italy Italy travel: Rome, walking towards Piazza Navona right out of the Pantheon. Angry skies looked menacing but fortunately gave no rain. Lots of little shops and cafes lined the perimeter of Navona Plaza. Next time, when we go without our Perillo Tours Familia, we'll have more time for more video and for an espresso. Impressive and unique architecture of the church! (2:10) Send this video to a friend. Italy travel: Rome walking past one great site after another with Perillo Tours of Italy Italy travel: Rome. The statues undergoing restoration outside Piazza Navona's church will be worth another look when they are completed. The relatively minor fountain/statue at one end of Piazza Navona was impressive enough! Walking back to our Perillo Tours bus for transport back to the hotel, every turn produces a new and wonderful discovery. You literally can't just look left and right without seeing something historical or impressive, as the video shows. Back at the hotel, boxing promoter Don King lives up to (or down to?) his reputation. (2:18) Send this video to a friend. Leave/View Comments |

Italy travel: Rome Hotel with Perillo Tours of Italy Italy travel: Rome, back at the hotel playing "Pass the Piggies". Never heard of this game? Neither had we. Roll the pigs, and depending on how they land, you get points, as the video shows. Thanks again, Mark and Wendy, for your generous and thoughtful gift to the kids! They've introduced "Pass the Piggies" to every friend or relative who has enough time to roll a few pigs! (1:26) Send this video to a friend. Leave/View Comments |

Italy travel: Rome Dinner with Perillo Tours of Italy Italy travel: Rome Dinner, a short walk from our Perillo Tours hotel. Another very nice looking restaurant with the same question: "Meat or fish?" The establishment was charming enough to warrant recreation of our entrance on video tape, ending with a quick "hello" from everyone in our group. (2:17) Send this video to a friend.
